International webinar - Understanding cross country practices for policy evaluation

Launch of OECD and France Stratégie cross country reports on policy evaluation. The role of evaluation to support governments in addressing the exit and recovery from the COVID-19 crisis

The webinar has shared the findings of two recent international studies on policy evaluation, including the:

In the first session of the webinar, the discussions has addressed the policy implications of the findings. The aim is to ensure that policy evaluation systems can meet countries’ needs in promoting evidence-informed policymaking as well as in improving the quality of public expenditure and the quality, responsiveness and accessibility of public policies.

The second session has focused on the current COVID-19 context, in which governments, because of the emerging support scheme, are mobilising evaluation tools to preserve public accountability. Moreover, the rapidly changing context for the delivery of public services calls for the adaptation of evaluation methods to help governments maintain the effectiveness of service delivery.
